| Dur-flote: The DAF clarifier with a difference The Dur-flote system purifies water through the use of dissolved air. The contaminated water is fed into the system, where it is first saturated with dissolved air. For maximum efficiency, a flocculent is then introduced in a static mixer. The treated water then passes through a reaction chamber in the primary vat, where flocculation occurs through the appropriate residence time. The floc rises to the surface, where the floating particles are removed by a paddle wheel. The clarified water then flows over a weir toward the Dur-flote outlet. The water is now ready to be reused.
