| Dur-flote: The DAF clarifier with a difference The Dur-flote system is an efficient method for the clarification of white water. Its simple, easy to maintain design makes it an ideal solution for the removal of suspended solids in white water. The contaminated water is fed into the Dur-flote system, where it is first saturated with dissolved air. For maximum efficiency, a flocculent is then introduced in a static mixer. The treated water then passes through a reaction chamber in the primary vat, where flocculation occurs through appropriate residence time. The floc rises to the surface, where the floating particles are removed by the paddle wheel and the clarified water flows to the outlet. As well as lowering fresh water consumption and energy usage, the Dur-flote allows for the easy recovery of solids suspended in white water, increasing plant efficiency.
